Corn : Painted Mountain
This verity of corn was given to us from a friend, started from seed in a green house and transplanted to our little farm garden. We will be trying to save seeds from the corn this year to hopefully grow again next year! Here is some info about this beautiful corn!

Geography/History
Painted Mountain corn was developed in Montana during the 1970s by a grower named Dave Christensen. He collected hundreds of different native heirloom varieties and began a selective hand-crossed breeding process to come up with a good tasting variety that could grow in harsh conditions. He focused on varieties planted by the Native American tribes and colonial homesteaders of his native Montana, where the elevation tops 5000 feet and the environment demands extreme hardiness. Painted Mountain corn is wl-suited for cooler, more temperate climates with shorter growing seasons. In warmer climates it will be an early season crop. Painted Mountain corn is not widely available and is most likely spotted at farmer’s markets and in home gardens.

Tomato : Random Types
This year due to the wild weather that we had we ended up losing our tomatoes that we planted from seeds. A week later we had seen at a garage sale that a lady was selling tomato starts. She told us she was part of a seed share program and had a few extra plants that she wasn't going to plant. She said there was a few black tomato verities and a mix of cherry and slicing tomatoes. This batch of tomatoes makes us so excited since it really is a mystery.

Pepper : Red Bull's Horn
Always always do some research on the varieties you are buying. When we bought these peppers we thought since they looked like a large hot red pepper, this varieties is actually a sweet pepper! A little bummed since we wanted this pepper to be hot to make some special hot pepper canning recipes.
The plus side we can fresh eat these peppers since they are so tasty!
