Made with fresh; tasty ingredients you can pronounce!

This sauce is hands down the most creamy and delicious homemade alfredo sauce you will ever make! This is a tried and true recipe and you will agree that it is the best recipe out there!

The Best Homemade Alfredo Sauce
Ingredients
4 tablespoons butter
2 large garlic cloves
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 cups whole milk
3/4 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon salt and pepper
2 tablespoons parsley flakes
6-8 white mushrooms (optional)
Directions
1. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Optional: Cook down mushrooms in a skillet for 5-6 minutes and set them aside for later.
2. Once the butter is melted, add in the minced garlic cloves and cook for just 1 minute.
3. Once you've warmed the garlic, you can add the flour. Cook for about 2 minutes or until the mixture is bubbly and just slightly darker than when you started. This will create a dry paste consistency
4. Turn to medium-high heat and add in 1/2 cup of the milk until a dough forms. Keep adding milk 1/2 cup at a time, whisking after each addition until smooth.
5. Once you've added all of the milk, whisk continually until bubbly. Add 1/2 cup parmesan cheese and allow this to integrate into the sauce. Taste test, adding more parmesan cheese if desired
6. Add salt, pepper, and parsley and cook for 5-8min on medium-high heat, whisking often.
7. Whisk together until smooth and serve over pasta. Add a protein source (chicken, shrimp, etc.) if desired.
